Wednesday’s drive thru job fair had a great turn out!
On Wednesday, more than 620 employers took part in a statewide drive thru job fair at 17 sites around Wisconsin to find employees while limiting the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
Locally, the drive thru job fair held at the Waukesha County Expo had 82 employers and 281 job seekers participate.
“Our preliminary data indicates that nearly half of job seekers in attendance are receiving unemployment and roughly thirty percent lost their job due to COVID-19,” said Cindy Simons, President of Forward Careers. “Almost every job seeker expressed their appreciation for hosting today's event and were hoping to meet with the employers. Our team will be taking this information to plan for another job fair where we can safely plan for interaction between hiring employers and job seekers.”
The job fair was provided in partnership with the WOW American Job Centers and WOW Workforce Development Board.
