Forward Careers Celebrates with United Way of Washington County

Today United Way of Washington County celebrated a record-breaking campaign that brought in $1.67 million for local health and human service programs. Forward Careers was glad to be part of the celebration that recognized initiatives from the last year like the 25 Days of Gratitude, Emerging Leaders Events, and United Against Hunger meal packing event. To help raise funds in 2018, Forward Careers held fund raising events and participated in the 25 Days of Gratitude run with United Way of Washington County's Board President, Pete Rettler. During the celebration, Forward Careers received an All-Star Champion award for increasing the total dollars raised in their campaign. In 2017, Forward Careers received $10,000 in United Way funding to provide supportive services to Independent Living program participants. The Independent Living program is designed for young adults aging out of foster care with education, employment, housing, budgeting and building a support network to assist as they transition into adulthood and become independent. "With the funding we received from United Way, we have helped 18 young adults throughout Washington County transition to adulthood by providing services to develop independence such as stable-housing, employment, education, budgeting and a support network for success," said Cindy Simons, President at Forward Careers. #UnitingForceForGood
